Il paese, le Langhe intorno a 360°, si caratterizza per l'imponente castello, proprietà di diverse famiglie nobiliari, tra cui i Falletti, che gli diedero il nome. Sono da percorrere le vie e gli slarghi del suo centro storico per scoprirne storia e tradizioni: la piazza definita "Balada", perché vi si ballava durante le feste; il "muro del ponte" sul luogo del medievale ponte levatoio; l'antica piazza del castello, che vede oggi le sfide al gioco della pallapugno "alla pantalera"; lo stemma del paese sulla facciata della biblioteca comunale; la chiesa parrocchiale di San Lorenzo e la confraternita di S. Anna, la "via del fossato", il sentiero delle fontane. Castiglione è anche il famoso, discusso "cubo", recente segno d'arte contemporanea, interamente costruito in vetro, senza alcun tipo di intelaiatura; il suo interno diventa eccezionale punto di osservazione del paesaggio circostante. The village, completely surrounded by the Langhe, is marked out by its huge castle, belonged to different noble families, amongst the Fallettis, who gave it its name. It is worth walking through the historical centre’s streets and wide stretches, in order to discover its history and traditions: the square called “Balada”, because it was the ball’s place during the feasts, the “bridge’s wall” where there was the medieval drawbridge, the ancient square with the castle, where there fist-ball “alla palantera” matches take place, the village’s escutcheon on the public library’s façade, Saint Lawrence’s Church and Saint Anne’s Fraternity, the “moat’s way”, the fountains’ path. Castiglione is also well known for its controversial “cube”, a recent contemporary art work, completely made up of glass, without any kind of structure; its interior is an excellent point of view to enjoy the landscape. It is twinned with Mounttellier (Switzerland).
